Around Ivanhoe: September Events Worth Putting on Your Calendar
September Around Ivanhoe
One of the advantages of living in Ivanhoe Estates is how many communities and activities are within a short drive.
Mundelein, Libertyville, Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Lincolnshire, Grayslake and the rest of Lake County give residents access to a surprisingly broad mix of events, restaurants, parks, shopping and recreation.
As part of The Ivanhoe Quarterly, we plan to periodically highlight a few things happening outside our gates that may be worth adding to your calendar.
Here are several coming up in September 2026.
Mundelein Farmers Market — September 5, 12 & 19
The Mundelein Community Connection Farmers Market continues on Saturdays this September from 8:00 AM to noon.
It’s an easy Saturday-morning outing for fresh produce, local products and a chance to support area businesses.
Coffee with Mayor Meier and Trustee Juarez — September 5
Residents interested in what’s happening around neighboring Mundelein can attend Coffee with Mayor Meier and Trustee Juarez on September 5 from 9:00–10:00 AM at the Mundelein Police Department.
Although Ivanhoe Estates is located in unincorporated Fremont Township, Mundelein remains one of our closest neighboring communities, and many decisions and developments there affect the broader area we use every day.
Park on Park — September 9
Car enthusiasts may want to check out Park on Park, scheduled for September 9 from 4:00–8:00 PM near Park Avenue and Seymour Avenue in Mundelein.
This recurring community event brings people downtown and is another easy outing just a few minutes from Ivanhoe.
Mundelein Fire Department Blood Drive — September 12
The Mundelein Fire Department is hosting a blood drive on September 12 from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
For residents looking for a simple way to give back locally, this may be worth considering.
Mundelein Arts Festival — September 19 & 20
One of the larger events this month is the 15th Annual Mundelein Arts Festival, taking place September 19 and 20 from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM at Courtland Commons.
The free, family-friendly festival is scheduled to include more than 50 juried artists, live music, food vendors and artwork from students at Carmel Catholic and Mundelein High School.
Tell Us What We’re Missing
This is a feature we’d like to expand.
If you know about a great event, restaurant opening, family activity, festival, trail, market or other experience around Lake County and our surrounding communities, send it our way.
Future editions will look beyond Mundelein to places including Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Lincolnshire, Grayslake and elsewhere around Lake County.
There’s a lot happening around Ivanhoe. We’d like to help neighbors discover more of it.
